Everyone is intrigued by weather photos and videos. We enjoy a peaceful sunset photo with palm trees taken in the tropics to tornado and storm photos from the Midwest. Puffy white clouds against a blue sky reminds us of childhood days, and even now as adults, we can see animals, mythical creatures, religious figures and sometimes a relative’s face in the cloud formations.
The day I took these photos I had been working in the studio most of the morning and when leaving the studio I looked up to see what was in store for storms or if it was just cloudy. These amazing formations of clouds are not as ominous as they look. It was slightly windy on the ground, but it appeared to be more turbulent up high. The sun was actually peeking through the clouds once in a while. But, these wild formations caught my eye. I stood and just marveled at the sight of the clouds and how interesting the patterns were. “Get your camera, idiot, if it’s interesting and you’re mesmerized, take a photo!” I hear that from my inner photo conscience more and more.
The images shown have been manipulated. I darkened the images in Photoshop after changing the mode to LAB, then throwing away the color layers, making the image black and white. I darkened the image until it made the clouds appear to be threatening.
This is similar to my other post of looking up. This is taken to the extreme looking almost straight up to include the patterns of the clouds.
Thanks for stopping by!
