Take a Break!
Some clients are out of the office this time of year, enjoying time with their families on spring break. A break from the day-to-day business life is good! It’s refreshing! For me, it’s a break from clients’ wants and what they need, seeking my experience to help them market themselves, their companies, their products, their foundations and events. It’s a break for me to see if I “still have an eye” for composition, lighting, form and shape. There are photos I look back on and wonder, “Why the hell did I shoot it that way in that light?” There are a few images that I love how they came out. But I still look at those photos and think, “Next time I need to try this or that.” If you’re a photographer or artist, you know there’s no perfect shot, painting or drawing. I may think it’s the best photo at the time, and feel great about it, whether it’s for a client or personal work. But I know it can always be improved upon – next time. A break is good, whether it’s spent locally or on vacation. I always have a camera with me. I never know when the “perfect photo” will present itself and whether I can capture it. It’s all about timing. Thank you to my wife and travel buddy, Julie West, for taking photos of me, in the moment, taking a break.
