Farmer’s Market
This past Saturday was one of those Chamber of Commerce days in Des Moines. My wife and I decided to go to the Farmer’s Market on Court Ave in Des Moines, Iowa and enjoy the beautiful morning. We ran into some friends playing in a band on one of the street corners. We enjoyed strolling and looking at the vendor’s wares and had to have a cup of Java Joe’s iced coffee.
I took my camera with me. More like forced myself to take it with me. Some days I have a hard time convincing myself to take a camera wherever I go. I look through a camera all week long for commercial photos, product photography, location photography. But when it comes to shooting on my own, it’s tough to keep looking at the world through a lens. After downloading and looking through the images I’m always glad I took a camera.
The following images are from this past Saturday. Glad I took the camera and will keep taking it with me.The Hub Spot, on the Principal Riverwalk is located just east of Court Ave along the Des Moines River. A great venue to sit back, sip wine and enjoy the view. Our friend’s band Asphalt and Stained Glass.
The virtue of the camera is not the power it has to transform the photographer into an artist, but the impulse it gives him to keep on looking. – Brooks Atkinson – 1951, Once Around the Sun
