Studio photos of a recent jewelry/model photo session.
These images are going to be used for web and for a catalog featuring the jewelry. The jewelry is Bling Time Jewelry and Accessories. The web site is; http://www.blingtimeaccessories.com/
I took around 200 photos of jewelry and jewelry with models.
To obtain a white background I light the background, white seamless paper, separate from the models, as shown in the lighting illustration. I also make the background two to three stops brighter than the subject or models. I take an incident reading from the models adjusting the light to get a reading of f/16. Then take a reflective reading of the background and adjust the light to get a reading of f/32 to f/45. After taking a few test shots, I adjust the background lighting, leaving my camera set at f/16 and adjust the background either up or down from f/32 or f/45. This adjustment to the background lighting is made to reduce any flare coming back into the lens and washing out the models.
